A Central Otago District Council campaign to connect employers with staff to get through the busy summer months began its second phase on Wednesday.
The campaign launched in early September with support from the Ministry of Primary Industries and Ministry of Social Development.
Phase one of the Central Mahi — It Hits Different campaign involved getting employers to register and create videos promoting available roles.
Economic development manager Nick Lanham said phase two was about encouraging potential employees to visit the Central Mahi website to watch the employer›created videos, and register for support to secure a role.
‘‘We’re asking job seekers who want to earn cash while also enjoying the sunshine and strike a great work-life balance to consider Central Otago for a working holiday,’’ Mr Lanham said.
‘‘We’ve got a diverse range of opportunities on offer — including hospitality, retail, horticulture and primary sector work.’’
The campaign will primarily be marketed via social media targeting the lower South Island, with a display at November’s Otago Pop-Up Job Shop in Dunedin, and collaboration with some local high schools.
