Food, wine and entertainment set in breathtaking scenery will be on offer at Glendhu Bay early next year.
Internationally renowned eight-piece band The Black Seeds will headline Ripe — the Wanaka wine and food festival — when it returns to Glendhu Bay in March for the third year.
From Wellington, The Black Seeds had been playing since 1998. They garnered international fame when their song One by One featured in series two of television series Breaking Bad.
Their music is a mixture of big beat funk, dub, afro music, pop, rock, soul and roots reggae-ragga. Ripe event director Nathan White said the 2024 event would be bigger and better than ever.
‘‘We’ll feature premium wineries such as Amisfield, Gibbston Valley and Cloudy Bay alongside a range of boutique wineries and food vendors from across Central Otago, including Artisan Catering Arrowtown and The Stoaker Room Wanaka.
‘‘We’re also thrilled to have secured headline act The Black Seeds, one of New Zealand’s most-loved bands.
‘‘We have a fantastic lineup and to see out the day and get the crowd singing along we’ve got local cover legends Mojo.’’
