Local tickets are now on sale for Central Otago’s favourite party.
Alexandra Blossom Festival tickets have hit the shelves for the region’s residents, to reduce queues on the day.
Locals’ tickets — otherwise known as earlybird tickets — are on sale around Alexandra in local shops and banks; in visitor centres in Roxburgh, Ranfurly and Cromwell; and at Central Otago District Council service centres until September 23.
Locals’ tickets are $6 each, with children under 5 still offered free entry.
Out-of-town visitors can buy tickets at the gate on the day for $10, with children under 5 years still free.
September 23 to 25 is set aside for the 65th Alexandra Blossom Festival — New Zealand’s longest running festival, which will be full as usual of entertaining, fun events, including Friday night’s Mardi Gras and the iconic Grand Parade.
On Saturday, trucks, ‘‘florreys’’, blossom floats and princesses will proceed down Centennial Ave celebrating spring and all things Alexandra.
Saturday in the Park features carnival rides, market stalls, food trucks, children’s entertainment, and headline acts New Zealand groups The Jordan Luck Band and the Lady Killers.
It is shaping up to be a party nobody would want to miss.
